DataONE goes Live!

Northern Spotted Owl. HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, Oregon.On July 23, 2012 the DataONE portal for earth science data exploration went live.  SIS is proud to be a part of the team that has developed this tool for the earth and environmental sciences.

  SIS team members include faculty members  Suzie Allard, Kimberly Douglass, Carol Tenopir and Bruce Wilson, who holds a joint appointment with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  Other team members are post doctoral researcher Miriam Davis, programmer Robert Waltz,  user experience lab leader Mary Beth West, and graduate research assistants Ben Birch and Anthony Ahn. A number of CCI doctoral students interested in science communication and information, particularly usability studies and assessment, have participated in related research as well.  This project has also facilitated strong collaboration with UT libraries faculty including Maribeth Manoff and Eleanor Read.
