The School of Information Sciences Revises its Curriculum
The school’s curricular revisions formalize changes that have --
substantively -- already been adopted by SIS faculty. The curriculum has not
substantially changed, just revised to reflect what the school actually
offers, which also more adequately reflects evolving trends in library and
information sciences. The University Graduate Council approved the
changes on January 27, 2005.
Peiling Wang Awarded Outstanding Information Science Teacher Award
Information Sciences Associate Professor Peiling Wang has won the 2005 Outstanding Information Science Teacher award co-sponsored by the American Society for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) and the Institute for Scientific Information.
School's first spring Research Forum to kick off March 9
On March 9, UT librarians Travis Dolence and Ron Gilmour will open the forum by discussing survey results of the information gathering behaviors of amateur scientists related to library usage, Internet resources, scholarly journals, and popular magazines.
