Dr. Bharat Mehra (Principal Investigator) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee. His research represents diversity and intercultural issues in library and information science and furthers social justice and social equity agendas to meet the needs of minority and underserved populations. He primarily teaches courses on public library management; diversity services in libraries; race/ethnicity/gender in the information professions; collection development; services for adults; and information organization and representation.

Dr. Kimberly Black (Co-Principal Investigator) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee. Her work centers around a careful consideration of knowledge, expression, meaning and discourse and how (geo)social power is exercised through the production, reproduction and control of narrative and other expressive forms. In her work, she considers how manifold human relations are mediated through the exchange and control of narrative, how community is circumscribed by narrative and thought, and how society is impacted by the liberatory and carceral potential of ideas.

Dr. Vandana Singh (Co-Principal Investigator) is Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Undergraduate Information Studies and Technology Minor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Singh's doctoral dissertation is on “Knowledge Creation, Sharing and Re-Use in Technical Support for Open Source Software.” Her research areas and work experience are in software technical support, open source software development, human-computer interaction, online communities of practice, and online customer support.
