Faculty and staff members of the University of Tennessee School of Information Sciences (SIS) will host an alumni reception and recruiting program on January 22 at the Memphis-Shelby County Public Library and Information Center Central Library.
The program will begin with a discussion of the USA Patriot Act by interim director Dr. Doug Raber, which is intended to provide an overview of the key sections of the Act relevant to libraries, as well as their implications for patron privacy.
The School will then honor Jackson “Jack” Maxwell with the Distinguished Alumni Award for 2003. All alumni and friends of the School are invited to attend and talk to prospective students who are considering enrolling in the Master of Science Program at SIS.
A discussion of the School’s Distance Education program will follow after the break.
