On February 9, SIS graduate, Sarah Searles, will proudly watch as her West High School library is honored as one of the top 35 school libraries in the country by the American Association of School Librarians.
The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) president, Dr. Nancy Everhart, is undertaking a Vision Tour to showcase 35 outstanding school libraries across the country. During her tour, she will be interviewing librarians and stakeholders, speaking with local media outlets, and collecting footage and stories, all in an advocacy effort to demonstrate what strong school library programs offer to students, teachers, and communities. Everhart's visit will include a brief assembly, at which she and several others will speak. All are invited attend this program in support of school libraries. The event will be held next week, on February 9, and the program will start at 10:00 in the main auditorium at West High School.
