SIS to Celebrate Jinx Watson's Retirement
The University of Tennessee School of Information Sciences invites you to
celebrate the retirement of Dr. Jinx Watson on Sunday, April 29, from 2:00
to 4:00 pm, at the UT Visitor’s Center, formerly the University Club at 2704

Massachusetts and Oak Ridge, Tenn., and she also taught children's
literature at several universities, including Harvard, before coming to UT.
She began teaching for SIS in 1984 as a lecturer. In 1990, she left to
obtain her doctorate degree at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University and
returned to SIS as an assistant professor in 1996. She co-founded the Center
for Children's and Young Adult Literature at Hodges Library in 1999.
The School invites students, former students, colleagues, family and
friends to send us your stories, anecdotes, or any memorabilia items that
you would like to contribute to Dr. Watson’s memorial scrapbook. Any object
or format is welcome. Send to Joel Southern at jsouthern@utk.edu or to the
