SIS Alumni & Friends Day: The Records Professions

Hoskins Library, UTThe School of Information Sciences Alumni Board invites you to join former classmates, favorite faculty members, and graduate students for the SIS Alumni & Friends Day on March 7, from 1 – 4 p.m. at UT Hoskins Library Delivery Hall on the UT campus.

This year’s theme, “the Records Professions,” explores the convergences and divergences of archives and records management. This program will uncover where these disciplines have traditionally differed, and yet how the emergence of digital libraries is now bringing these two disciplines together. What is Archives 2.0? Records Management 2.0? We have a gathered a panel of experts to answer this question.

Also, come and join us in celebrating the life and work of Dr. Mike Pemberton who will be retiring at the end of spring term 2009. And finally, SIS students and faculty members will sponsor a poster session during the afternoon reception.

This event is free and open to the public and parking is free and at the door.
