Rovelstad Scholarship in International Librarianship

  • Deadline Date: January 19, 2007
  • Abstract of Scholarship: The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is pleased to announce a scholarship for a student of library and information science to attend the World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited school of library and information science and have an interest in cooperative endeavors with international libraries, international standards, or other international library and information issues. The scholarship is intended to encourage students who have an interest in international library work and enable them to participate in IFLA early in their careers. The 2007 IFLA annual meeting takes place in Durban,South Africa, in August. The scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Mathilde and Howard Rovelstad.
  • Amount of Scholarship: The scholarship covers conference registration, passport fee (if applicable), international economy-class air travel, ground transportation, meals, and lodging.

Lucille M. Wert Scholarship

ALA Century Scholarship

  • Deadline Date: March 1, 2007
  • Abstract of Scholarship: This annual scholarship will fund services or accommodation for a library school student or students with disabilities admitted to an ALA-accredited library school. The scholarship will fund services or accommodations that are either not provided by law or otherwise by the university that will enable the student or students to successfully complete the course of study for a Master's or Doctorate in Library Science and become a library or information studies professional.

ALA MLIS Spectrum Scholarship

  • Abstract of Scholarship: Librarianship is one of the most diverse professions you can find. Special Libraries Association Scholarships

  • Deadline Date: October 31 each year
  • Abstract of Scholarship: This program consists of awards for graduate study leading to a Master's Degree, graduate study leading to a Ph.D., and for post-M.L.S. study. The SLA Scholarship will be granted only for graduate study in librarianship leading to a master's degree at a recognized school of library or information science. Up to three $6,000 SLA scholarships are available each year. The Affirmative Action Scholarship will be granted only for graduate study in librarianship leading to a master's degree at a recognized school of library or information science. One $6,000 Affirmative Action Scholarship is available each year. The ISI Scholarship will be granted only for beginning graduate study leading to a Ph.D. from a recognized program in library science, information science or related fields of study. One $1,000 ISI scholarship is available each year.

Gerd Muehsam Award

This award was established to honor the memory of Gerd Muehsam (1913-1979), distinguished scholar, teacher, and art bibliographer, whose support of and dedication to ARLIS/NA was an inspiration to her colleagues and students.
