Science Links was a two-year scholarship program funded by the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the University of Tennessee. The program was successfully completed in 2008. Science Links scholarships were awarded to students from underrepresented groups interested in a career in science librarianship. In addition to earning a Master's degree from the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Science Links scholars gained practical professional experience by working at the Science Links partner institutions: the University of Tennessee Libraries; the Oak Ridge National Laboratory; the Office of Scientific and Technical Information at the Department of Energy; and Information International Associates.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services, an independent Federal grant-making agency dedicated to creating and sustaining a nation of learners by helping libraries and museums serve their communities, supports the University of Tennessee.
