Mairéad Martin has served as Associate CIO, Service Delivery & Operations at Tufts University since November, 2015. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring the successful development, coordination, and delivery of enterprise infrastructure and clinical systems, enterprise applications, and client support services for the Tufts University community.
Prior to joining Tufts, Mairéad spent nine years at Penn State University, where she served as Senior Director, Information Technology Services (ITS) and Affiliate Librarian, Penn State University Libraries. From 2014 - 15, she led the establishment of ITS Services & Solutions, focusing on redefining IT customer service, support and service delivery. She managed a broad portfolio of services, including infrastructure and operations, the central IT service desk, application development, the enterprise service management office, enterprise software licensing and IT service support for Penn State University Libraries.
From 2003 to 2006, Mairéad served as Assistant Director in the Division of Information Technology at The University of Wisconsin, Madison leading the unit responsible for Identity and Access Management infrastructure and services. Mairéad started her career in IT at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1997, first in the role of network consultant (Internet2), then manager of the emerging technologies group, and finally as Director of Advanced Internet Technologies.
A native of Ireland, Mairéad has resided in the US since 1995. Previously, she spent 10 years teaching English as a foreign language in Paris, Dublin, Athens, and Tokyo.
