Biography

Denise Bedford is the Senior Information Officer at the World Bank in
Washington DC and has worked in the profession for about 35 years. Her
career has focused on information architecture and technologies, with
particular focus on semantics. Her current work program at the World Bank
includes: information architecture strategy, metadata strategy, enterprise
search stratgy, master data/taxonomies (topic classification scheme,
business function classification scheme, topic thesaurus), multilingual
search architecture, Tergram concept extraction/categorization program, and
business architecture. She has worked for the University of California
Systemwide, Stanford University, Intel Corporation, NASA, Dept. of Interior,
and the University of Michigan, and has taught graduate courses at
Georgetown University, and Catholic University over the last 10 years.
