- Biography
Originally from Georgia, Ben Birch earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Following graduation, he worked as an engineer in the aerospace, shipbuilding, and nuclear power industries.
Ben then came to UT, where he earned a Master's degree in Computer Science. While in the computer science department, he worked as a research assistant in the field of robotics software. As a result of this work, he co-authored two publications, one of which he presented at an international robotics conference.
Ben is currently a doctoral student, graduate teaching associate, and research assistant in the CCI School of Information Sciences. His research interests include human-computer interaction, science informatics, ontologies, and the Semantic Web.
