- Biography
Jim Malone has a diverse background as a roaming information professional/librarian, with over 12 years experience in academic libraries in the USA, Afghanistan and Qatar; as well as pharmaceutical and corporate information settings. He was most recently an Information Services Librarian for the Distributed eLibrary at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar. Prior to this, he served as a Research Associate with Integrated Solutions & Services, Inc. Of Knoxville, TN, with his time devoted exclusively on peer review recruitment and market research projects at Oak Ridge Associated Universities/Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. He received an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science in General Studies from East Tennessee State University, followed by the Masters of Science in Information Science degree from the School of Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2006.

He has a wide range of information science/communication interests including medical libraries, digital libraries, international librarianship, quantum information theory, computational science, psychology, anthropology, social responsibility, cosmology, earth sciences, science education, rural communities, multiculturalism, innovation in knowledge economies, nad knowledge transference between academia, industry, and the public.
