M.S. in Management Information Systems from University of South Florida, May 2009

B.A. in Psychology from Flagler College, April 2004

Biography

Originally from Florida, Becca studied psychology as an undergraduate at Flagler College. Upon completion of her B.A. she worked in industry, primarily in functional IT positions, with most of her experience centering on usability design and human computer interaction. This led to her decision to study information systems in graduate school.

At the University of South Florida, Becca obtained a M.S. in MIS, with a focus on e-commerce and social shopping websites. Since beginning the doctoral program at UTK, she has taught both online and in the classroom for the Information Science minor. Becca is currently managing the school's user experience lab.

Though she has an extensive background in HCI, her research focuses on information diffusion in social networks. Specifically, she's interested in the impact of network structure on the process of information diffusion. Becca's primary objective as a researcher is to develop social science theory in this area.
