Bonnie C. Carroll and Roy H. Cooper, Jr. have crafted a legacy gift to create an endowed distinguished professorship for the School of Information Sciences.
When realized, the Carroll/Cooper Endowed Distinguished Professorship will provide the CCI dean and SIS director with the funds required to attract and support a world-class faculty member for the School of Information Sciences.
“The information science profession is a quickly expanding field with a growing list of companies and organizations that need people with specialized knowledge and skills, “said SIS Director Diane Kelly. “This generous gift from Bonnie Carroll and Roy Cooper is particularly important because it will help SIS meet the ever-changing classroom and curriculum leadership challenges we face as we educate future information scientists.”
Bonnie Carroll is founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Information International Associates (IIa) based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
