Unix Account

UT provides each student with a Unix account that includes 50 MB of storage space. This space can be used to store files, eliminating the need to carry around jump drives. Your Unix account also provides the means to setup your own personal web page on the server. For more information, visit the OIT UNIX page

Secure File Transfer (SFTP) Applications

A SFTP client allows you to connect to a server (such as the UT Unix servers or the SIS servers) from your local computer and transfer files back and forth.

A list of supported UT OIT SFTP clients is available online.  Help for using SFTP clients is also available in the OIT Knowledge Base.

Check out the instructions online for configuring the SFTP Clients or contact the HelpDesk for assistance at 974-9900.
