User Experience - Mentor Workshop

Mentor Workshop Series

Dear SIS Students,

We invite you to join us for a Professional Development Workshop facilitated by UX-A mentor, Franciel Azpurua Linares, PMP (Information International Associates, Inc.) to discuss issues and answer your questions in prep for getting "out there" on the job. All SIS students are invited!

Topic: Expectations in the Workplace

Making the transition from student to employee is not always easy. As an employee, you are expected to focus on what you can offer to the organization to support their best interest. This is a very different approach from being a student. Even if you have work experience, it is important to understand these expectations in order for you to best succeed in the workplace. Let’s discuss these issues, such as,

  • Which is better, office work versus telecommuting?
  • Am I clear in terms of what is expected from me from my employer? if not, how do I clarify it?
  • When is it appropriate to take initiative and how do I do that?

When: Wednesday, September 13

Time: 1:00-2:00pm

Location: Hoskins Library, Room 4, 1400 Cumberland Ave (and via Zoom)
