Master’s degrees were bestowed on fifty-eight graduates of the School of Information Sciences (SIS) May 11, 2018 in a ceremony held on campus in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Building. Twenty-nine of the graduates participated in the hooding and awards ceremony.
The 2013 SIS Hooding Ceremony was held May 10, 2013 at the University Center Ballroom on the UT campus. Twenty-six SIS students attended the hooding ceremony to receive their Masters of Information Science. A total of 62 students graduated with many of them as distance education students who were unable to travel to Knoxville for the event. Fortunately, the event was videotaped and a link will be posted here as soon as the it is available for viewing.
The SIS 2012 Hooding Ceremony took place on May 11 at the UT University Center celebrating the 86 SIS graduates for this year. Twenty-seven graduates participated in the ceremony while friends and family looked on. Cindy Hicks, harpist for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra provided a beautiful music background for the event.

The 2011 Spring SIS Hooding Ceremony was held at the University Center Ballroom on Wednesday, May 11. Thirty graduates participated while family and friends watched as the degrees were conferred. The harpist from the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Cindy Hicks, provided a reverent atmosphere with beautiful music for the ceremony. Food and photographs were the order of the day once the ceremony ended.
The School of Information Science’s 2010 Hooding and Awards Ceremony on May 12 was a happy occasion for graduates and their families and was punctuated by a lovely string quartet, a webcast watched from Iraq, a surprise faculty award, and reception in the new Scripps Convergence Lab overlooking UT’s Neyland Stadium.
